  1. I would also expect them to release a more powerful then expected console at their usual lower prices, if they went for the added horse-power. After all, the real profit has always been made on software rather than hardware.

And I bet Miyamoto has some FPS idea’s up his sleeve, if he’s talking about them like this. Can’t wait!

I think that Nintendo might actually end up being the #1 console this generation (in terms of sales numbers). Consider that XB360 and PS3 are so expensive that most people will buy one or the other (not to mention games…I think games will cost significantly more on those platforms due to the cost of development).

On the other hand, I think people who get either XB360 or PS3 will _also_ get a Rev. simply because of the cool (geek) factor. On top of that, there will be lots of people who get the Rev. and don’t even consider the XB360 and PS3 (families, poor people like me :-D).

Miyamoto FPS? I dunno…FPS is not a big genre with the Japanese. Hard to envision Miyamoto working on an FPS, but I don’t doubt that he’ll have some advice to Retro on Metroid 3 (as I’m sure he had a big part in designing the controller).
